A group of educationists & social scientists of Siliguri had been realising the necessity to break fresh grounds in the Educational Research, mobilizing source materials matching with the environment for the last several years. It was felt that educational planning, besides being based on several universal tenets, must find out specific characteristics of the natural & social environment.

SCHOOL LOGO stands as a state-of-art in poise, represents the “elan vital” the living principle which is an eternal search for the manifestation of perfection already in man, as Swami Vivekanand has defined what he means by Education. Rising Sun gives a call ‘Arise! the breath, life again has reached us’ (-Rigveda). The Globe inside the human heart, significantly that of SILIGURI MODEL SR. SEC. SCHOOL, shall always receive the rays of fraternal feeling universally desirable for inculcating the spirit of education amongst our students from a National perspective. Hence, we chant the hymn and give a call for “Light! More Light !!, a never-ending desire for learning more and more. Blue, Red and Gold colours were chosen to reflect SILIGURI MODEL SR. SEC. SCHOOL’s philosophy and vision.
BLUE, the colour of the encompassing sky, despite SILIGURI MODEL SR. SEC. SCHOOL’s holistic approach to education includes the inculcation of a caring attitude among our students. RED represents determination and readiness to meet the challenges. GOLD, the traditional colour of strength, represents courage and tireless dedication to a cause, and sincerity of purpose.

The school was a Herculean Task − a task which was accomplished with the joint efforts of the entireSiliguri Model High School (Sr. Sec.) management team, international and local architects, and consultants to ensure to create a unique infrastructure that meets our aspirations as well as inspires us to excel. We deliberated at length to make our campus as complete as possible, as user friendly as possible, as environment friendly as possible, and as technologically advanced as possible to immerse our Pointers in an atmosphere that will enable them not only to excel academically but also help to shape their all-round capabilities — a campus where wholesome learning would not only build upon the legacy of Siliguri Model Sr. Sec.
